The Educational Student Loan Fund met with students at Nakhchivan State University.
In a speech in the meeting arranged at the university Vice-rector on social issues and public relations Arzu Abdullayev mentioned the education strategy defined by national leader Heydar Aliyev in 70s of the last century laid the foundation for training of qualified national specialists in Azerbaijan, economic potential, social-cultural and scientific-educational fields have been developed. Even after his return to politics in our country, the genius person determined the development of education as a priority direction of state policy and carried out comprehensive reforms in this field.
It was noted that creation of the Educational Student Loan Fund under the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan by Decree 1367 of June 13, 2021 is a bright example of the state care about higher education and vulnerable groups of the youth.
Speaking at the meeting, Ulvi Bahli, Head of the Accounting Department of the University, said that since the academic year 2021-2022 the commission of the Fund has been determined and started its activity, meetings with students have been organized and conditions for their registration have been created. Thus, during the past period, a total of 364 students have applied for loans, 101 of them - social, 181 - standard loans, 282 students have applied for loans, 9 students have applied for loans.
Bahruz Azimov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Educational Student Loan Fund (TTKF), spoke in detail about the history and purpose of the Fund. It was noted that the main goal of the Fund is to create equal educational opportunities for people from vulnerable groups and to expand the sphere of education.
It was noted that the education student loan is rather progressive, it is a state document, serving to provide the youth with access to education, as well as social and normative types.
The types of educational student loans, the requirements for obtaining student loans, the right to use the loan, the requirements for granting the loan, and the applicable benefits have been defined.
Bahruz Azimov added that in order to obtain the loan, students are not burdened with any obligations, collateral is not required as well.
It was noted that when granting loans, a high score is a prerequisite, taking into account the entrance scores at the initial stage. The loan amount is not issued directly to the student, but to the educational institution in which he or she received his or her higher education. The student is also entitled to a deferment if the loan taken cannot be repaid for some reason.
