Araz Pashayev, Chairman of the Board of Education Student Loan Fund at Nakhchivan State University, met with students.
Elbrus Isayev, the rector of the higher education institution, who spoke at the meeting, highly appreciated the activity of the fund created for students. He noted that currently providing access to education for students is a special opportunity created by the foundation for students.
Araz Pashayev, chairman of the board of the Education Student Loan Fund, gave extensive information about the foundation's history and purpose. It was stated that the main goal of creating the fund is to create equal opportunities for the education of people from the low-income strata of the population and to expand the scope of education.
Araz Pashayev noted that under the motto "Paid education is now more accessible", the annual tuition fees of students studying on a paid basis are paid by the fund.
It was emphasized that the types of education student loan, the requirements for obtaining a student loan, the right to use the loan, the requirements for granting the loan, and the applicable discounts have been determined. There are social and standard types of education student loans.
Araz Pashayev added that if the student's parents do not work or if there is a group disability, that student can use the social student loan. And all students without academic debt can use a standard education student loan.
Araz Pashayev noted that 17,000 of the 33,000 students who applied to the fund within 5 semesters are female students. With this, it is more accessible for female students to study in our country.
Addressing the meeting, Nakhchivan State University Rector's Advisor on Economic Affairs, Ülvi Bakhishli, said that the composition of the commission related to TTKF has been determined and started working in the higher education institution from the 2023-2024 academic year, and meetings with students have been organized and conditions have been created for their registration. Thus, during the past period, a total of 699 students applied for loans, of which 165 were social loans, and 424 were standard loans, and 589 students were approved.
It has been pointed out that when loans are granted, it is a prerequisite to show a high result, taking into account the entrance scores. The loan amount is given not directly to the student, but to the institution of higher education. If for any reason the loan cannot be repaid, the student is also given the right to deferment.
In the end, the questions that interested the students were clarified.
