New Decisions from the Student Loan Fund!
At the August meeting of the Board of Trustees, which oversees the activities of the Student Loan Fund, important decisions were made regarding students newly admitted to secondary specialized and higher education institutions.
It is known that the minimum required score for obtaining a standard student loan at the sub-bachelor level in secondary specialized education institutions is 110. According to the new decision, for students admitted to sub-bachelor programs requiring special talents (creative/aptitude-based fields), the minimum score required for the first semester of the first academic year has been set at 40. It should be noted that this requirement applies only to those seeking a standard student loan. There is no such score requirement for social-type student loans.
Another significant innovation concerns students admitted to higher education institutions based on the Scholastic Aptitude/Assessment Test (SAT) results. These students will also be eligible for a standard student loan in the first semester of their first academic year. The minimum SAT score has been set at 1200.
The adopted decisions are of great importance in terms of expanding students’ educational opportunities, ensuring social equity, and enabling more young people to access education.
