Experience Exchange with the Republic of Hungary
In order to study international best practices, from December 16 to 20, 2025, the Head of the Department for Cooperation with Educational Institutions of the Student Education Loan Fund (SELF), Fatima Abdullayeva, paid an official visit to the Republic of Hungary.
On the first day of the visit, a meeting was held at the Hungarian Student Loan Centre (Diákhitel) with its President and Chief Executive Officer, Csaba Bugár. The meeting was also attended by a representative of the Fund as well as representatives of the Hungarian Development Bank. During the meeting, information was presented on the provision of student loans, sources of financing, and repayment mechanisms. Diákhitel shared statistical data on the number of students who have applied to date and the volume of loans disbursed.
Within the framework of the meeting, the Head of Department of the Student Education Loan Fund delivered a presentation on the Fund’s activities. During the presentation, the benefits applied to graduates with high academic performance attracted particular interest from the Hungarian side.
As part of the visit, a meeting was also held at the Tempus Public Foundation with Deputy Director Habil Szabó Zoltán. The meeting provided information on scholarship and education opportunities available in Hungary for Azerbaijani citizens, including programs covering bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels.
