Addressing the event Yusif Gasimov, Vice-rector for Academic Affairs of the University, stated that the establishment of the Student Loan Fund is one of the brightest examples of state care about education in our country. The Fund, which provides new opportunities for students, serves such important tasks as ensuring the availability of higher education and creating equal opportunities in education.
Then the floor was given to Tehranaga Abdullayeva, an employee of the Student Loan Fund. He informed that the Fund was established by the Decree No 1367 of President Ilham Aliyev dated June 17, 2021. The authorized capital of the Fund is 80 million manat. The results of applications for student loans for the fall semester of 2021/2022 academic year have been announced. 50 students of the University of Azerbaijan have taken advantage of the educational loans. Seventeen students have received social loans and 33 students have received standard loans. Applications for the summer semester are still being accepted. T. Abdullayev provided information on international and domestic experience in the field of student loans, general requirements for student loans provided by the Fund, types of educational loans, the procedure for granting loans, interest rates on educational loans, benefits applicable to student loans, loan repayment requirements, the application process and registration and other issues related to student loans.
