A meeting was held at Nakhchivan State University on the rules for students using the opportunities of the Education Student Loan Fund
At a meeting held at Nakhchivan State University, the rector of the higher education institution, Elbrus Isayev, gave a speech in which he discussed the educational projects implemented by the state. It was emphasized that the establishment of the Student Credit Fund for Higher Education is one of the most prominent examples of the government's commitment to education in our country, as it was established by the Decree of President Ilham Aliyev dated June 17, 2021. He highlighted that the Student Credit Fund serves important missions such as providing opportunities for students, ensuring accessibility to higher education, and creating equal educational opportunities.
Araz Pashayev, the Chairman of the Management Board of the Student Credit Fund, provided extensive information about the history and purpose of the Fund's establishment. It was mentioned that the main goal of creating the Fund is to provide equal opportunities for education to individuals from less privileged segments of the population and to expand the scope of education.
It was noted that the student credit for education is a comprehensive state document that contributes to ensuring access to education and easing the financial burden on young people.
The types of student credit, requirements for obtaining a student credit, the right to use the credit, requirements for granting the credit and applicable benefits have all been determined. There are social and standard types of student credits available.
Araz Pashayev added that there are no obligations such as collateral, guarantors, or debts for students to take the credit.
Ulvi Bakhishli, the director of the university's Accounting Department, stated that the composition of the commission related to the Student Credit Fund was determined, and meetings with students were organized to facilitate their registration starting from the academic year 2021-2022. During the recent period, a total of 541 students applied for credits, of which 136 were social and 311 were standard, and 447 students received official approval for the credit.
It was emphasized that in the process of granting credits, high results are achieved by considering the entrance exam scores as the initial criterion. The credit amount is provided to the institution of higher education where the student is studying, not directly to the student. If, for any reason, the credit cannot be repaid, the student is also granted a grace period.
Finally, questions related to students' concerns were answered.
