The 16th Congress of Azerbaijani Teachers has commenced its activities
On December 15th, the 16th Congress of Azerbaijani Teachers dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the national leader Heydar Aliyev began its work at the Baku Congress Center.
Before the Congress, a visit was made to the Honorary Alley to pay tribute to the national leader Heydar Aliyev and the distinguished ophthalmologist-scientist, Mrs. Zarifa Aliyeva. The dear memory of both was respectfully remembered, and floral arrangements of carnations and roses were placed at their graves.
Then, the Martyrs' Alley was visited, paying tribute to the memory of our heroes who sacrificed their lives for the independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. Flowers were laid on their graves.
The Congress began with the performance of the State Anthem during the children's dance of the Incehsenat Gymnasium, which is part of the Azerbaijan National Conservatory. Then, a minute of silence was observed in memory of our heroes who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of our homeland and the educational workers who passed away during the period since the last congress.
During the Congress, Farah Aliyeva, the Director of the Humanitarian Policy, Diaspora, Multiculturalism, and Religious Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, read out the address of the President of the country, Ilham Aliyev, to the participants.
The Congress continues with speeches.
The two-day congress will include panel sessions on topics such as "National leader Heydar Aliyev and Azerbaijani education," "The Great Return to the Liberated Territories," "The Azerbaijani language in the face of new challenges," "Digitization, artificial intelligence, and the transformation of education," "Modern Approaches to the Content of General Education," "Modern Approaches to the Management of General Education," "Professional Education and Skills for the Future," "Teacher Training and Priority Issues in the Professional Development of Teachers," "Integration of Science and Higher Education," "Attraction of Health Opportunities for Individuals with Limited Access to Education: Inclusive, Integrated, and Special Education," "Expansion of the Content and Scope of Preschool Education," "Learning and Teaching Diversity in Primary Education," "New Approaches to the Teaching of Azerbaijani Language and Literature," "Modern Teaching of Natural Sciences," "Modern Teaching of Mathematics," "New Perspectives on the Teaching of History and Geography," "Learning Foreign Languages: New Opportunities," "The Role of Arts, Technology, and Physical Education in the Formation of a Holistic Personality," "Innovative Projects: STEAM, Digital Skills," and others.
It should be noted that the first congress of Azerbaijani teachers was held in 1906. Traditionally, the congress is held every 5 years. The congress held in 2018 was the 15th in terms of the number of congresses and the 5th in the period of independence.
